How do we attract native birds to Edendale School...UPDATE

 INQUIRY TERM 2

UPDATE...

Last term our enquiry topic was - How can we attract more native birds to Edendale School.

After a lots of research and by working through the technology process we decided that a bird table close to trees and away from children and the road would be the best idea to solve our problem.

Miss de Groot's Dad, Rob, built us a bird table and Gabby's Dad, Mr Shepherd put it in the ground.

I am pleased to say that it was a success!!! The children are great at remembering to put out fresh bird seed, fruit and sometimes fat (ewww) Steve our resident Rooster is quite the fan also!!!

We have so many birds visiting. From black birds and sparrows, to wax eyes, starlings and the odd cheeky seagull. Looking out my window now I can see 5 wax eyes.

We are looking forward to see what other birds come along.

Thank you to everyone who helped with that inquiry.

-Miss.d.G
