About Me

Edendale, Southland, New Zealand
Hello! We are Room Kea from Edendale Primary School Southland. Currently we have 15 wonderful children in our class. We are the school where children take what they think is impossible and make it possible, where children see what wonderful potential they have and begin setting big goals for their lives. To achieve this at Edendale Primary School our children will be...... confident, connected, actively involved, lifelong learners.

T4 W2 news letter

Hello,
I have been in contact with the swimming coach this week. Swimming will start this Thursday 9:30am. It will now be every Monday and Thursday at 9:30am unless notified otherwise. This can ONLY happen if we have parent help for dressing, monitoring ect. Thank you to Mrs Perriam and Mrs Ferguson for putting up their hands for this Thursday. Please let me know if you can.
Please return library books by Wednesday as we will not be having a Friday session due to pet day this week.
You may notice that your child’s sight words have changed colour THIS IS AWESOME! We had sooo many children pass their pink and red words last week. Keep up the good work at home.
We now have Mrs Leanne McLeod helping in our class four days a week as our numbers have reached 18.  Welcome to Mrs McLeod!!!
Welcome to Kerri who joined us this week J YAY!
Some of you will have a note requesting a $1 coin to purchase a new writing book for your child. Please bring this asap. I am so proud of all the work Room One is doing with their writing, come in and check it out.
Have a great week. See you on Friday at Pet Day!
Regards,

WELCOME BACK

                                         Hello!!!!
Room 1's blog has been feeling a little neglected recently (this is my fault) so I thought we would get it back up and running for term four.

swimming this term! we are currently sorting a time for room one that suites a fantastic woman who is coming to help us. We need to have at least three adults at the pool at one time. Our class is going to expand to 19 next week so it is important we think of the children safety. We are hoping a time slot will be sorted today so swimming can start next week. If you are willing to help (get in the pool) please let me know ASAP.

School sun hats are being issued this week to protect our kiddies from your  Southland sunMrs Coyle informs me that Southland sun is the harshest in NZ...

Our topic this term is India! we are learning about similarities and differences between NZ and India. 'How would my life be the same/different if i lived in India?' We are excited to learn about India's culture (food, dance, dress, language, traditions and more.)

Room 1 has started practising our end of year concert item, they are sooooo excited. 7 weeks to turn 19 five years olds into rock stars..challenge accepted.

Just a touch of house keeping...
1. Remember that school starts at 8:45. I realise it is hard getting back into routine after the holidays but it is important that children are ready to learn by this time. Please txt or ring the office if you know you are going to be late.
2. library books- return by the following Friday of date issued.
3. Parent help for swimming would be AWESOME

wow first week done and dusted. 7 more to go. Have a great weekend!
